Spot Anything??

Can you spot something??? I have been doing some cool detail to the tree......

I have stuck Organza onto the leaves. Dark green for the dark green (of course) and light green well you get it. So it has taken me soooooooooo long to finish the light green, and I just did!! Wohoooo.
So now I am going back over to do the yellow and red. Then I will be thread painting over them. Maybe one day I will finish this :) But like people say, it is worth doing properly.

He also got money off the Grandparents, thanks for that :) I'll share a funny that he said yesterday before the obligatory birthday photo's. The kids were talking and one of them said  "your going to go up to grade one next year" and he got all upset and ran to me and said oh mum she wrecked the surprise I wanted to keep it a surprise, I wanted to tell you later :) hahahahaha He is pretty excited to be a big grade one boy :) well the big bit might come alot later than grade one :)

Unfinished Project Finished

Last year I started a three panel wall hanging for an art quilt competition and ran out of time for the competition and I needed to start on another competition quilt. So I didn't finish the three panel quilt. I am going enter it this year so I pulled it out and thought I better finish it. So I did. And I am really happy with the results.

Here are some close ups

So I have learnt that my heart wasn't really in finishing this off and so no matter what happens I will finish a project next time. I am very excited to get back to the tree and I am also going to start thread painting a canvas print of Stanley - should be fun :) for me anyway :)

Leaves

So I have finished the tree and have started on the leaves. Here's the tree done

Branches

And here are the leaves

It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do just this little bit, so it is going to take me ages to do the whole tree. It was very relaxing and calming to sit and paint though and I really enjoyed it.
On another note, we watched The Joneses this week - it was a great movie. Very though provoking and had a great message to it. So watch that one if you get a chance
Have a great weekend

Tree's

As soon as I pick the kids up from school they are niggling each other and just bickering!!. It is a joy to pick them up :) I need three back seats so I can keep three kids seperated. Hmmmm Anyway, give them some food and maybe things might get better :).

In the meantime, today I have been painting the tree and I am quite surprised how well it turned out. Have a look

So, I will be doing more tonight and doing more shading.

Have a good one

Finished and A New Idea

Hello All

How is your week so far?? Mine has been busy with cleaning and selling our old green Mazda!! Wohoo so I have been cleaning out the garage and putting a few things on ebay and freecycle. Me the clean queen :) So in between that I have finished the experimental canvas photo print 'colour in'. I am not that sure about it, so I will try embroidering another  to see if it was just this one being a bit blurry. What to do you think?

Does this look like curtains?? That's my hand as the shadow, camera lesson's please Mike :)

Ok, so anyway enough insecurities shared, here is the next thing I am working on. Once again the picture in my head will not transfer to paper, and to make it even worse I cannot draw at all, I am sure that my kids could draw better than me, but I do my best :)

The leaves will obviously go all over the tree, I just didn't want to have to draw them all :) I have drawn it onto fabric and tried to take a pic tonight but you can hardly see it so will try again tomorrow. I am going to take the plunge and start painting the tree in tonight/tomorrow and see if it will work. I am painting with watercolours again as they worked so well last time. I will then painstakingly paint on every leaf, I then plan to stick organza over the top of every leaf in the same colour and then sew over the whole finished painting. So I think I might be doing this project for a while. In between I will start on another canvas print. I have a castle on a bluff that just looks so inspiring.
Have a great day
