Another One Done

Well I was determined to finish off The Vine quilt this week. And I did! Feels great too :) This one I am going to sell. Anyone interested? :) This was made on Hand dyed fabric and the vines and flowers were done with Inktense pencils. Then there is heavy stitching over everything :).

Here are some pics....

This is the thread I used 1000m and only just made it!! So much thread!! And I used another 1000m for the bobbin. Good thing I ordered more thread :) Never have enough thread. Ever.

The lighting isn't so good. In person it glows and has really strong red parts that you can just see here and also there is lots of light green thread that gives the appearance that the light is hitting the vines in certain places. I am not a good photographer :) But you get the idea.

A bit of detail. The whole thing is filled with lovely bits like this.

Colour is a bit washed out due to the flash.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter

Sold!!

I handed over Night Sky to the buyer today. He loooooves it and is so happy with it. The sky looks real to him :) what a compliment. Husband loves it too and wants me to make him another one. So I am giving the sky a bit more black with this awesome thread it is called Glitter Holographic thread that just shimmers, beautiful.
I also purchased paints today, getting paid to make a quilt helped with that :). And I am so excited to get them in my hands and start mixing colours and painting. Imagine all the creations I can make!!! I really love seeing a colour come together and it is my creation and one that probably won't happen again. Very cool.
I have nearly finished the 'Vines' quilt

Having fun and can't wait for the next one.

Finished!!!

Okay, finally!! I have totally finished The Night Sky. Except for a label. That can wait. I took some basic photo's for now. I will be getting professional shots taken later.

What do you think?? I have done a faced binding on this one, where you cannot see the binding. So there is just edge, took me all day since I haven't done it before but I think I like it a lot better than the other binding which looks like piping. It isn't hung properly either so it doesn't look straight. The stick holding it up isn't long enough :)

I have already oiled my machine and am ready to finish off this one

Enjoy Your Sunday

Visitor

Yum, I just finished a delicious cheese toasty! All low fat ingredients of course, but it was still tasty :) hard to believe but true. Well I have nearly finished Night sky!! And I am over it so hurry it up I say. Just doing the grass and then the binding. Then I have to spend hours cutting all the threads off the back. Tv while I do that I think.

Anyway, we had a visitor the other night...

Cute or what?? We tried to feed it carrot as you can see but it wasn't interested. He/she hung around for quite a while and hopped onto Young Son's window ledge and chilled out. It didn't damage the screen, just climbed up the security part, smart possum and very cute.

We are selling this if anyone is interested...

And here is the nearly finished quilt

Getting There

I have been trying to really get as much done on this night sky as possible. It is taking me longer than I thought and I still have the light blue thread to go. I have done two other blues, dark and medium and they are looking great. All the buildings are done and I just need to go over one of the buildings to neaten it up.

Here are some Pics

Just finished reading Water For Elephants. WOW such a great book. I had heard of it, but at the moment it seems that I am being showered with books that I want to read and that one just had to wait. Then a friend borrowed it and it became our next book club book. I am sooo glad it was. Such a great read.

There is another author I love to read called Louise Penny and her books are set in French Canadian and are centred around a small village and she delves into all the characters that live there. They are murder mysteries but with depth and so much emotion it is amazing.

I have been exercising every day and actually I have been getting up very early, doing a body rock workout and then going for a walk with sam. I am sore and tired by the end of the day and a bit disappointed that I have not lost weight!!!!! A bit sucky I think. Oh well, will keep persevering. Pain is my companion in the mornings :)
