Finished and Started

Okay, I had SOOOO much fun doing the Swirling wall hanging that I am going to have to get started on another one real soon. Here are some photo's, and I have put all the photo's on my website under 'Swirling'.

So now I just have to bind it and I will enter this into the QLD Quilters Guild show and see how I go, here's hoping I win. Now, do you remember me saying that I had printed onto canvas paper and had so much fun?? Mad I know but this is what I have done so far.... this pic is me sitting in a gorgeous holiday house in Stanley Northern Tasmania (one of my most favourite places) obviously relaxing and enjoying the view. What do you think?

I'm sewing me next :) Fun Fun Fun. Have a great one. Jane

Weekends For Relaxing???

Well, I always thought that the weekends were relaxing, but then when you have children I suppose that isn't always possible :).My weekend started with taking the kids to the library on Saturday morning and I was borrowing the books out after a nice time of the kids finding their own books and being quite good      ( that should have alerted me) when I heard the alarm go off for the fire door. Hmmmm where were my children? Well I knew right where they were, so following after the running librarian I found two of my adorable children freaked out and frozen right next to the fire door. So wonderful to have everyone in the library watching you and your children. I still had to finish borrowing the books too!!. Oh well these things happen. To me anyway.

Another thing we were doing this weekend is watching my brother run the Jetty to Jetty. So I get all the kids ready and leave at 8:20, which is pretty darn good on a Sunday morning, and we go to watch him. While we are walking toward the finish line we watch the people running and it was so inspiring to see them and it was great fun. There were families, kids running, babies being pushed in prams and mum's and Dad's all running together, that was really great to see. So we make it to the finish line and wait to see my brother cross it. I meet up with my Father and his wife and so there are three of us watching and waiting to cheer on my brother, and while we are waiting we see a man running with a sign that says 'my goal is 2:00 hours' so we cheer him on and watch him make over the line in 1:59 wohoo. So we all get excited and then go back to watching for the brother. He said he makes it in about 2:15, so we are waiting and then we get a phone call from him saying 'I've finished where are you?' Man!! we are all really annoyed that we missed him and he then tells us that he was right behind a man holding a sign that said 'My goal is 2:00'!!!! Hahahahahahahahaha So all that time we were cheering on that man, my brother was right behind him and we missed him!!! It felt like we were in a sienfeld episode -  the dills watching and missing everything :)
My brother did so well!! running a half marathon - 20kms -  in 1:59 since he was right behind the other man :)
It made me want to run one, and even my father said he is going to start training and join my brother when he runs another marathon, I will have to hold him to it :). I also forgot my camera as well so there are no photo's. There are especially no photo's of my middle child chucking a fit because she didn't bring a littliest pet shop to play with and her other sister would not share. That would have been a really good photo.
So ends my relaxing weekend :)

Some Fun

Well the op shops were the usual, full of stuff you don't really want. But I did find two white double sheets that are perfect for dyeing, and a big blue sheet too. So there are about 6 metres of fabric and I paid $6.50. Not bad. So I have three big sheets to have fun with tomorrow.

I also went to Spotlight and bought some thread :) never enough and just look at these colours

Aren't they gorgeous!! They are perfect for the canvas printing I will be doing - see if you can tell that this is printed on canvas

So this is what I did yesterday, I went round to Sam's and printed gorgeous photo's onto canvas paper. It was so much fun. And now I will colour it in basically with thread. I am not sure how hehehe but I will work it out. I am hoping it will look amazing :)
This is what else I did today

There were five pieces :0 but that is pretty good control people :) This is for tonight when I get hungry :)

Something Different To Keep Me Sane

Well here I am after a while being away. School holidays makes it very difficult to get any time to myself. But I have been working on this...

.

Here are some shots of the feathers that I am putting in between all that colour...

I love doing these things, and then I go around the edges and it really makes them stand out.

I also lost 600grams how cool is that!!! It took me two weeks but I am still very excited. I am doing really well this week too. The urges to eat bad food are really strong but I am resisting. :) I had one red rooster hot chip the other day and wow! was that so yummmmmm.
So this week I am planning to - go op shop hopping, dye some fabric, watch 4 episodes of "The Good Wife" while beading, go to the Temple, print some photo's onto canvas paper and stitch onto it, have a girls night and watch my brother run in a half marathon. Now I have a great life don't I??

Let's see what I get done. If I find some funky op shop stuff I will post them and you can judge whether it is junk or justified :).
