Weekends For Relaxing???

Well, I always thought that the weekends were relaxing, but then when you have children I suppose that isn't always possible :).My weekend started with taking the kids to the library on Saturday morning and I was borrowing the books out after a nice time of the kids finding their own books and being quite good      ( that should have alerted me) when I heard the alarm go off for the fire door. Hmmmm where were my children? Well I knew right where they were, so following after the running librarian I found two of my adorable children freaked out and frozen right next to the fire door. So wonderful to have everyone in the library watching you and your children. I still had to finish borrowing the books too!!. Oh well these things happen. To me anyway.

Another thing we were doing this weekend is watching my brother run the Jetty to Jetty. So I get all the kids ready and leave at 8:20, which is pretty darn good on a Sunday morning, and we go to watch him. While we are walking toward the finish line we watch the people running and it was so inspiring to see them and it was great fun. There were families, kids running, babies being pushed in prams and mum's and Dad's all running together, that was really great to see. So we make it to the finish line and wait to see my brother cross it. I meet up with my Father and his wife and so there are three of us watching and waiting to cheer on my brother, and while we are waiting we see a man running with a sign that says 'my goal is 2:00 hours' so we cheer him on and watch him make over the line in 1:59 wohoo. So we all get excited and then go back to watching for the brother. He said he makes it in about 2:15, so we are waiting and then we get a phone call from him saying 'I've finished where are you?' Man!! we are all really annoyed that we missed him and he then tells us that he was right behind a man holding a sign that said 'My goal is 2:00'!!!! Hahahahahahahahaha So all that time we were cheering on that man, my brother was right behind him and we missed him!!! It felt like we were in a sienfeld episode -  the dills watching and missing everything :)
My brother did so well!! running a half marathon - 20kms -  in 1:59 since he was right behind the other man :)
It made me want to run one, and even my father said he is going to start training and join my brother when he runs another marathon, I will have to hold him to it :). I also forgot my camera as well so there are no photo's. There are especially no photo's of my middle child chucking a fit because she didn't bring a littliest pet shop to play with and her other sister would not share. That would have been a really good photo.
So ends my relaxing weekend :)
